David is a painter with a special gift, which is passed on for generations in his family.
This gift makes it possible to people on their deathbed to have a beautiful end to their lives.
His paintings act as a gateway where the soul of the dying person reaches the place which has been painted, where they spend their last 15 minutes until they die.
On one day things go wrong when David accidentally goes through a painting with his new client and ends up on a Dutch coast himself, which makes him fear for his life.

For this film Arjan did research into early minimal music and used composition techniques from that genre to create the original soundtrack for this film. He received the ‘Gouden Camera’ award for ‘Best Music’ at the Eindhovens Film Festival.

The flute is played by Beatriz Pomes. The violin is played by Manja Okkerse.

Promo video to Boost Your Mood.

The Netherlands Institute of Mental Health and Addiction is setting up a website to educate people on how to boost their mood. This video is a creative illustration of people being stuck with their problems. The music focusses on the colourful intention of the film and builds from a somewhat sad situation to a colourful solution. This is done by a variety of string and mallet instruments.

To accentuate the creative attitude of the school, the music makes use of some less conventional musical instruments like clapping and using a packet of biscuits. It also uses unusual ways of playing the conventional instruments, like high notes on a bass guitar, which makes it sound somewhat detuned and on the edge of being acceptable.

Trailer of the short film Tussenstop by Jan van Gorkum, with Yorick Zwart, Ellik Bargai and Guus Boswijk. The film is based upon a short story by Stephen King. For the film, Arjan scored for a small ensemble. The music underscores the inner struggle, which the main character John has to deal with, when he is confronted by a situation of physical abuse.
